Public Discussion: Internet Policy
On Monday, October 13, 7pm, we will begin our board meeting with public discussion as we update our internet policy to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act. Join us to hear about and give input on our internet policy. Click here to download the draft of the new policy.

Congratulations to the winners of our Bikes for Books Summer Reading Program! Olivia Pelkey, Wyatt Hood, Karis Burns, Maggie Bruno, Torin Lally, and Tasker Holmes are now the proud owners of bicycles sponsored by the Union Masonic Lodge. We hope to see more great readers enter the drawing next summer!
Kitchen Broom Making Class
Monday, August 18th at 6:30pm, Karen Koch will give a teach participants how to make a kitchen broom. Karen learned traditional Appalachian-style broom making at the Augusta Heritage Center at Davis Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia from Carlson Tuttle. Limited to 6 participants–please call 785-4733 to register. $15 materials fee benefits the library.
New Bench
We have a lovely new bench thanks to donor Dorothea Schmitt. We hope you enjoy sitting outside and taking in the scenery.

Closed July 4 and 5 for Independence Day Weekend
The library will be closed for the Independence Day weekend holiday. We will be open again as usual on Tuesday the 8th.
Golden Opportunity Golf
This Founders Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 9am-4pm is your chance to play the beautiful members-only course at the Union Country Club! Green fees are just $15 per person and will be donated to Vose Library. Union Country Club is a par 3 course with nine holes. Although the course is not long, you will find it suitably challenging. The Club is a pleasant place to play among friendly people.
Amnesty Weeks
The library recognizes National Library Week with two Amnesty Weeks: Return your overdue items free of fees between April 13 and 26. Check your shelves for those stragglers and send them home!
