Vose Library accepting applications for Library Director


With Sue moving on at the end of the month, a search committee has been formed to identify our next Library Director.

Vose Library in Union, Maine seeks a self-motivated, creative, organized person to serve as Library Director.  The Director is the Library’s only paid employee and is expected to be comfortable using independent judgment in handling a wide array of administrative responsibilities, including budgeting, collection development, public relations, program development, and community outreach through our website and newsletter.  As the public face of Vose Library, the Director will have constant interaction with patrons of all ages, volunteers, and the Board of Directors.  It is important that the Director enjoys working with people, communicates well, and will actively seek to ensure that the Library remains a vital part of our community.

In addition, the Director must be highly proficient with computer library systems, the internet, and social media and have the desire and skills to keep our library moving forward with new and innovative programs and services.  Please review the job description for further details.  For additional information or to apply, please contact applicants@voselibrary.org.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and two references. The position is available August 1st; the Board of Directors will be begin reviewing resumes July 10th. The position is thirty hours a week and offers a hiring hourly range of $16-18, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus paid sick and vacation time.
